Banja Luka Brewery was founded in 1873 by monks of the monastery ''Marija zvijezda'' in order to produce beer for their own purposes. These monks belonging to the Trappist order known in the world by the old tradition of preparing good monastery beer, whose recipes are guarded through the ages. By this recipe, the production of beer started in the former Delibašino village near Banja Luka.
